Dear AccessCal Supporters,
AccessCal provides an annual journey to success!
With much gratitude and appreciation, AccessCal would like to thank each employer that collaborated with us at our annual job fair: ADECCO Staffing, Applied Medical, Aryzta/La Brea Bakery, UBER Inc., Care Xpertz, Allied Universal Security Service, Nevada Nutra Tech LLC, Goodwill of Orange County, Wyndham Worldwide, Hilton Hotels, Wells Fargo Bank and Super King Markets. Through their support, we have helped refugees and the underserved population integrate into a new community that offers them the security and hope they deserve.
Over 150 job seekers attended the fair. Many of them were refugees and immigrants who have come with various educational backgrounds and skills hoping to start a better life for themselves and their families.
As the fair started, each job seeker walked into AccessCal and was welcomed and guided into the event room filled with potential employers. A detailed map with all of the employers was provided to navigate through the job fair smoothly. Case managers were on hand to lead job applicants in reaching their ultimate goals. One by one, job seekers began visiting each employer, introducing themselves, discussing work experience, competitive job packages and the hiring process. "Thank you for applying!" an employee from Wells Fargo Bank said after receiving each job application. "We have a lot of great candidates applying today."
One of the many job seekers who attended the fair, arrived to the U.S. a little over a year ago and said he was so grateful to AccessCal at giving him the chance for a better life.
"I am hopeful that this event will help me find my next job," he said. "I applied online at the Hilton hotel before but I feel like this time they really got to know me and learn about my skills."
We know that our country is best when everyone has the opportunity to do his or her part in making this nation better and stronger.
A special THANK YOU to our job fair donors, Al Amir Bakery, Little Arabia: Lebanese Bakery & Cuisine, The HoneyBaked Ham Co., Bank of the West, CVS Pharmacy and Al Sanabel Bakery and Restaurant, who believe in the AccessCal cause and made this event possible.

Happy National Mental Health Awareness Month!
During the month of May, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and participants across the country are bringing awareness to mental health. Everyday, AccessCal provides professional counseling services, educates the public, fights stigma, and ensures that our community members' needs are satisfied.
In observance of Mental Health Awareness month, AccessCal staff showed support of the cause by wearing green. Together as a community, we can raise awareness and display the passion and strength of those working to improve the lives of all Americans who are affected by mental and behavioral health.
Join us and be a part of our workshop, "Bringing it out of Darkness: a Conversation about Mental Health." The workshop will address the social stigma associated with mental health. It will be at our AccessCal office on May 15, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
If you or a loved one is suffering from a mental health condition, please reach out to AccessCal at (714) 917-0440 or to inquire about our counseling services, visit our website www.accesscal.org
Join AccessCal and Give Back to The Community!
On Saturday, May 13, 2017 thousands of volunteers from diverse backgrounds across our nation give back to their communities through service projects. AccessCal will give back to the City of Santa Ana for being such a welcoming city.
Volunteers will come together to organize food donations into boxes for the benefit of the underserved. This project has been made possible by the support of the National Association of Letter Carriers.
For more information and to volunteer, please register by contacting Ameera Basmadji at [email protected] or call (714) 917-0440.
Thank You AccessCal 2017 Sponsors!
We thank our sponsors of 2017! If it weren't for your social responsibility and the generosity of the community, our capacity to serve would not measure up to the heavy community demand.
