12:30 - 3:30pm, Mohawk Trail State Forest, Charlemont
Come to Mohawk State Forest to learn with us: how the cabins are set up; how to reserve the cabins, what to bring on a trip, and how to use the cabins’ wood stoves. The goal of this afternoon workshop is to teach you all about the state park cabins so that you may access them on your own later for a family or group camping trip.
Special Note: No independent cycling this Saturday, June 10
[Our bikes and our staff will be in the Berkshires on a cabin camping trip with the Statewide Head Injury Program, so we are unable to run Independent cycling this week.]

11th Annual Kayak-a-thon
This is the event of the season! A giant flotilla of kayaks will make our way from Sunderland to Northampton on the Connecticut River to raise funds and awareness for adaptive recreation programs.
We are expanding this year! We've increased our fundraising goal to $20,000 and can accommodate more people on the river (can we get 70 kayakers?!) and a bigger cookout after where your friends and family can join us for music, good food, and good company to celebrate a wonderful day on the river.
You can learn more about the Kayak-a-thon here, along with links, deadlines, etc. for getting involved.
Also, the Kayak-a-thon is a huge planning and organizational effort. Please let us know if you would be willing and able to volunteer to help with any of the following:
|▪ ||Outreaching to potential business sponsors |
|▪ ||Find a singer/songwriter or small band who would be interested in performing at the cookout after |
|▪ ||Arranging for donations of food and drink |
|▪ ||Assisting with outreach to area media |
|▪ ||Photography at the event |
Please reply to this email to let Karen know if you are interested in getting involved! We'd be so grateful for the assistance!
