With the inauguration behind us, we're looking forward.
2016 was a big year for ClimateStore: we updated our brand, improved our content and launched a mobile ready site.
It was also a big year for the climate. World leaders adopted the Paris Agreement, we saw a dramatic deployment of renewables, and many nations made commitments to be net-zero. Those are historic achievements.
But we have a long way to go.
2016, '15 and '14 were the hottest years on record, the new administration is pushing fossil fuels, and we seem to be pausing just when we should be starting to sprint.
A pop quiz?
How many pounds of greenhouse gas does the average American household emit?
You guessed it, it's 3. Our cars, HVAC systems, home electricity use, air travel, food choices and consumables use thousands of pounds of fossil fuels that are irreversibly changing the climate.
In the coming months we look forward to providing practical information on how you can bring this number down. There's good news, there are hundreds of ideas and innovations that will help us achieve better cleaner lifestyles. We have some and guess that you do too.
