Here are some comments from one of last year's participants:
"There were people of all walks of life, church home groups, youth groups, groups of friends, couples and single people, all with the same aim of raising money for their chosen charities and experiencing some of the difficulties that the homeless face night after night, The ground was very hard and uneven so a lot of wriggling about was needed to try and get some form of comfort.
Thankfully there were volunteer security guards to keep us safe (a luxury that the real homeless people do not have) and we were able to go into the cathedral to use the facilities and get a hot drink, thanks to the volunteers (blessed are the tea makers!)
To sum up it was an uncomfortable, interesting and rewarding experience and gave a small insight into the discomforts that the homeless have to endure on a regular basis. It also once again made me grateful for my comfortable home and yes I will probably do it again next year – see you there?"
Make this date an important one in your diary!
